We decode life information and create the new possibilities for living creatures. Every organism on Earth, including us humans, has a unique biological blueprint "Genome" individually. Living body is shaped on the basis of the genomic information, the slight difference has produced each character. Genomic information is unchanged from the time of birth, it has a variety of information from genetic predisposition to the risk of illness.
On the other hand, the innate genetic information, "genome" ,just does not determine all responses to the state and its changes in the cells constituting the living body, and the external environment and the stimulus. Activity of the genome, molecular modification and the DNA, environmental and time-dependent manner altered by the interaction of various molecules involved in the conformation of genomic DNA, as a result, cell function diversifies. The innate genetic information itself is referred to as the "genome", the other hand, changes in the activity and the interaction of acquired genome is called the "epigenome".
Changes in the epigenome are closely associated with the state and the change of the external environment. Therefore, we need to evaluate the state of the external environment quantitatively, in order to interpret the epigenome more accurate. Analysis of the microbial flora of soil and water, skin, and the stool is valid as one way to evaluate the external environment quantitatively and biologically. It is called metagenomic the genome population of microorganisms that present in the various samples.
In addition, all of the information the genome, the epigenome, and the metagenome must be analysed integrally, in order to elucidate the biological control mechanisms. The recent development of genome science, a large number and a large-scale data can be obtained in these three genome field.
Rhelixa, Inc. was founded by researchers who led a large-scale analysis project of genomic information (or epigenome-metagenomic information) in specialized research institute. We are able to connect the data of the genome and epigenome, and we are also capable of integrated analysis and product development with the epi-genome data by using its own genome analysis and editing technology. We will develop new research, development and business, based on the following three policies.
